Session 1: Without Data, Sustainability is an Empty Suit

The MassTLC Energy Community is hosting a sustainability seminar focused on the IT environment. In this session we will focus on how sustainability covers a myriad of issues: energy use and cost, water use, GHG emissions, toxic waste, employee engagement, and supply chain.  What do you measure, how do you gather the data and to whom do you report it to?  There is a plethora of information, technology can help, but where do you start?  What are the best practices?

Our esteemed panel will discuss how there is no one answer – each business must examine its own impacts and plan accordingly. It is critical for companies to focus on what is ‘material’ to their business, and gain the support of employees, stockholders, customers and vendors. Not an easy initiative in this young field! 

 Join sustainability practitioners to learn:

• Examples of material impact on the business – top and bottom line.
• Strategies to provide the largest positive impact.
• Consistent standards and metrics so not to reinvent.
• What their customers, boards, employees and require.
